Open VS Concealed Carry With James Yeager

So this Popped into my Subscription feed this morning on youtube, now as some of you know if you have read my previous posts I am an avid open carry guy. Even before I really even owned a handgun I was pro open carry. I have started to look at the bickering that goes on among 2A people and it really sickens me that we are at eachothers necks over this issue. There seems to be an elitist attitude about each respective method of carry... while this isn't unusual for the gun community in general It can be quite annoying.

The Two respective positions are Open carry, that is for all to see vs. Concealed carry which is under the clothing typically in the waistband or under the pant leg at the ankle.
I think I can agree with this video that there is a time and place for each method of carry. Regardless of what lifestyle you fit there is a method of carry that works for you. There is no way any of us can possibly map out every single scenario and be perfectly prepared for each. When it comes to open carry the pros are that you are readily able to access your firearm, people are more aware of your presence, and that others are less likely to commit crimes against you or people near you. The cons are obviously that more people WILL eventually notice that you have a firearm and thus you would lose all "element of surprise", and inevitably if you have some blockheads who also tend to be anti-gun/police who are ignorant of local gun laws they will hassle you. It is inevitable that these are issues you will eventually run into. At the same time it gives you the opportunity to teach others about firearms and show people that firearms owners are not crazy wacko's that are out to murder people in the food court.

On the inverse you have the concealed carry crowd. The pro's of concealed carry are; anonymity, some element of surprise, you usually will not be told you cannot enter places because of your gun. The cons to this method of carry are; Limited choice of easily concealable firearms, firearm not as easily accessible (See Deep concealment).
While more can be said about either choice for carry I think it really comes down to each individuals lifestyle and their own local laws. In some places its easier to carry open, while others its much simpler to conceal. Some prefer not to have any undue attention. As for me, I will choose to open carry when available as an option and conceal when I need to.
