Assault Clips: And other Sundry Items

Ah yes Its Election Season, and those of us who are gun owners know what that means!! Its time for Liberals to start promising Gun Control. And with that The Brady Campaign can start throwing around their catchy Phrases Like "Assault Clips", "Assault Weapons", "junk handguns", "sniper Rifles" mostly to rustle the Soccer Moms into a frenzy and get them to vote to make communities "safer".

I won't even get into the Politics on this one... I will simply Go after the Verbage, Really to more accurately define what they are saying:

Assault Clip: Usually a High capacity/Standard Capacity Magazine for a Rifle Or Carbine that holds more than 10 rounds of ammunition. Commonly referred to as "Assault" because they resemble magazines used by military rifles.

Assault Weapon (Assault Rifle): Any Semi-Automatic rifle and Or Carbine that will seat High/Standard Capacity Magazines. Usually AKM, AR-15, Or other similarly Military-Style Weapons. 
Commonly portrayed as Machine-Guns.


Very Loosely Based off the Name given to the German STG-44 (Sturmgewher-44 [Storm Rifle, Assault Rifle]). While Bearing little resemblance to the function of an actual Military Classified Assault Rifle.


Based on Many Liberal "Legal" Definitions of Assault Rifles: a Ruger 10/22 would be considered a military weapon. *facepalms*

Junk Handguns/ Saturday Nigh specials: Essentially Any Gun that Is considered to be "cheap" or "readily available to low income buyers". The Idea is simply that because these guns are extremely inexpensive compared to other handguns that they are more likely to be used in crimes.


Somehow the logic becomes; "If we ban cheap handguns then no one can use them". which in and of itself is nonsense because other weapons will simply become cheap, or will be replaced with other guns.

Sniper Rifles: Rifles that Have scopes mounted to Aid in long distance shooting.
This Is literally how loosely a "Sniper Rifle" is defined...

These are merely a few of the terms that tend to get thrown around. Its sad that rather than tell the truth that the anti-gun left has to resort to Lying about weapons and making them sound more menacing than they actually are. If you hear people use these terms, Call them on it! Educate people, take them to the range and show them how responsible gun owners behave. Its up to us to represent the 2nd Amendment, help us look good and get involved in Local Politics. because when these things are restricted then the government has taken away your liberty.
